Hey there, friends! I’ve got a word for you today. We’re talking about Jesus and several things in the book of Revelation that we just want to draw out. Some of the promises, some of the things that are going to be able to help you mature and grow in your business and your personal life. So, let’s touch base on that. The Promise of Blessings
First off, I’d like to finish talking about what we started discussing previously. Those blessings and help that we can get from the godly word, from the Bible and Revelation. We want to look to the book of Revelation to begin receiving those biblical blessings, those things that are going to help us in our daily lives and make us successful. What I want you to notice first is the promise.
Now, Jesus has promised us some things. And the first thing you see here that he’s promised us in the book of Revelation is that he has promised to bless us. If you want to receive those blessings, you don’t have to look very far. Check out verse three of chapter one in Revelation:
It’s real simple. We want to read these things that Jesus has written and spoken, and we need to keep those things which are written. In other words, we need to do them. Even a small child can understand this. It’s his word, so we need to read it and do it. If we read his word and do what he’s written, we’re going to be blessed. I’m looking forward to the blessings God has in store for me!
A Kingdom of Priests
The second thing I want you to notice is not just his promise, but his priests. Now, what am I talking about when I say “his priests”? Well, look with me here in verse six:
Verse six declares that we, the saints, he has made into a kingdom of priests. As we immerse ourselves in the word of God, we become set apart, sanctified. We start to receive these blessings and he sets us apart to be a kingdom of priests for him.
Now, I want you to understand that we are not priests in the worldly sense of the term. We are a set apart, godly, righteous people – a kingdom of priests for him.
The Promise of His Presence
The third thing I want you to notice is not his promise or his priests, but his presence. Not only does he promise us blessings and set us apart to be a kingdom of priests, but he also blesses us with his presence. Look with me in verse seven:
We’ve got that blessed promise of miraculous and wonderful things. He has given us his promise, set us apart to be a kingdom of priests (which is a blessing in itself, to be separated from the ungodly and wicked), and then we have the promise of his presence. He’s coming and every eye is going to see him. Some will be crying out in great joy and celebration, while others will be wailing with tears of sorrow.
Receiving the Blessings
So what do we need to do to receive these blessings as Christians and business people making our way down the path of sanctification? Well, we’re going to have to do some things differently:
- We need to know the word of God. Paul said we need to know, and how are we going to know unless we read his word? Get in the word and read what it says.
- We need to do what the word says. We’ve got to be set apart. If we’re not going to read these things and do them, then we’re not going to be that kingdom of priests and receive that blessing.
- We have to take great joy and set our spirits upon the hope of his returning. And when I say hope, I don’t mean maybe he’s going to come. I mean the hope and joy that he is soon coming!
